History
PPC, a division of John Mezzalingua Associates, Inc., is a privately held and family operated company that has evolved with the telecommunication industry during its 70 years in existence.
Originally named Production Products Company, the company also had a division named Craftsman Electronics that focused on the design and manufacture of taps and amplifiers. That product line had come to be known as Magnavox, and was later divested in 1970 to Philips. With the emergence of the cable television industry in the early 1950's, PPC began designing and manufacturing coaxial connectors for broadband networks, under the S-A, Jerrold, and Magnavox brand names.
John Mezzalingua founded the company in 1940 with an emphasis on innovation. PPC perpetuates this basic philosophy with a heavy focus on research and design, yielding more patents annually in the markets it serves than any other company. PPC is recognized with intellectual property value by the IEEE and the Wall Street Journal annually. Our advanced laboratories have continued to assist the customers and the industries in general surrounding research with coax and connectors for several decades. The partnerships with customers and our “open door” with research have developed solutions that have helped shape the telecommunications network quality in terms of performance and reliability.
Over the last 70 years, three generations of the Mezzalingua family have dedicated their efforts to developing innovative products for the cable and telephone industries - from the amplifiers and taps at Craftsman Electronics, to the industry's first addressable set top converter in 1981 at Octagon Scientific, PPC continues this tradition with Telecommunications connectors (CATV, Cellular, Satellite), HDMI cable assemblies, Coaxial Drop Cable, Filters and Traps.
PPC is located in Syracuse, NY and manufactures the full line of Hardline and Drop Connectors, a full range of Traps, Drop Coax Cable, and 50 ohm wireless connector products for cell towers. Accepted today as a world leader in Connectivity technology, we now have contracts with the major telecommunication companies around the world.
PPC's worldwide headquarters and primary manufacturing facility is located in East Syracuse, NY, with manufacturing facilities in China, St Kitts, and Denmark. PPC also has sales and distribution centers located throughout 5 continents of the world.
As a leading connector supplier in Cable TV, Satellite, and Cellular Wireless networks, PPC continues to partner and supply innovative solutions under contract to the largest global operators today and in the future.”
